This Privacy Policy describes how Talent Approved ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects personal data when you use our website and platform. Talent Approved is a product by Deskhero AB, which is the data controller for the processing described here.
It covers two groups of people: (1) workspace users - recruiters and hiring managers who sign in to create and review assessments, and (2) candidates - people invited to take an assessment via a workspace user. Where the processing differs between the two groups, we say so explicitly below.
Name, email address, password hash (or Google account identifier if you sign in with Google), workspace membership and role, and basic activity timestamps.
The name and (optionally) email you enter when starting an assessment, your answers, time spent per question, score, and event log entries used to detect cheating (for example, tab switches and window blur).
Every assessment session is screen-recorded: we capture a playback (a re-rendering of what was on screen in your browser tab) so the workspace can review how you worked through the questions. This is always on and you are informed before the assessment starts. If the workspace has enabled webcam monitoring for the assessment, we additionally record your webcam and microphone for the duration of the session; this requires you to grant the relevant browser permissions to proceed. You may also choose, entirely optionally, to record a short intro video of yourself at the start of the assessment; the intro video is never required and is only captured if you opt in.
Standard server logs (IP address, user agent, request paths and timestamps) used to operate and secure the service. Error reports may be sent to our error monitoring provider.
See the Cookies section below for the full breakdown.
We use this data to operate the platform: authenticating users, delivering and scoring assessments, providing the recordings and cheat-detection signals back to the workspace that invited the candidate, sending transactional emails (invitations, completion notifications, password resets), and keeping the service secure and functional.
For workspace users, processing is based on the contract to provide the service and our legitimate interest in operating and securing it. For candidates, processing is based on the legitimate interest of the workspace that invited you (typically a hiring process), and on your consent for camera and microphone recording where applicable. Strictly necessary cookies are set without consent; analytics cookies require your consent.
Candidate data is only visible to members of the workspace that invited the candidate. We do not sell personal data. We share data with sub-processors that help us run the service: our hosting and database provider, our email delivery provider, our AI provider (used to generate assessment summaries from anonymized answer data), and our error monitoring provider. Each is bound by a data processing agreement.
Workspace and assessment data is retained while the workspace exists. When a workspace owner deletes a workspace, all associated assessments, answers, recordings, and uploaded media are permanently removed. Workspace users can delete their account at any time, which removes their profile and revokes their membership.
Subject to applicable law (including the GDPR if you are in the EU/EEA), you have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. Candidates should normally contact the workspace that invited them, since that organization controls the assessment data; for direct requests, use the contact link at the end of this page.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated through the service or by email where appropriate.
